The car that Senna took that legendary second place at the Monaco GP and a third place at the British GP in 1984, this Toleman TG184-2 was the car that gave Ayrton his first shot in F1 - holding a special place in history for many F1 fans. The iconic racer has been fully re-commissioned, and is ready to race.

Prices for anything Senna-related have been extremely strong as of late, undoubtedly fuelled by the critically acclaimed Senna movie. One of Senna's race helmets recently sold for £74,750.

Offered by Silverstone Auctions, the Toleman will go under the hammer at the Spring Sale on 16 May, along with a number of other interesting cars - including a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, which is estimated to sell between £190,000 to £210,000.

Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: 'We are thrilled to bring this iconic race car to auction as it’s undoubtedly one of the most important lots we’ve ever offered under the hammer.

'Senna mania is reaching fever pitch and rightly so as he’s considered by many as the greatest F1 driver we’ve ever seen. It goes without saying that this will be one of the star attractions at the sale as it’s a very rare chance to own a much sought after piece of motorsport and Ayrton Senna history.'
