Ford engineers tune in and rock on
What do Stevie Ray Vaughn's tube amp,
Suzanne Vega's lip smack and Rihanna's voice
have in common? Ford audio engineers used these recordings to set the sound
stage inside the all-new Ford Escape. PJ Harvey's "Electric Light" was used
to make sure the instruments don't modulate the vocals and the bass doesn't
shake the doors. The Escape is coming to market this spring with three
available audio systems -- the standard six-speaker system, a
nine-speaker system and a 10-speaker SONY® system. more...

Ford awards $50,000 to agencies in
need
The Ford Volunteer Corps has dispatched its MODEL Teams into shelters,
schools and family centers, with more than 300 volunteers painting,
building, renovating and cleaning to help people in need and boost their
spirits. Ford's nonprofit agency partners also report a critical need for
diapers and baby formula among low-income families, so to help ease the
shortage Ford employees in the Detroit
area collected diapers, wipes and formula in another Drive to Make a

New Ford Police Interceptors deliver up to 35 percent better fuel
economy
As fuel prices continue to climb, the fuel efficiency of the new Ford
Police Interceptor has the potential to help law enforcement agencies
reduce their bills. EPA fuel economy ratings confirm the new police
vehicles are the most fuel-efficient in Ford's history. The fuel economy at
idle improves 35 percent on the sedan and 32 percent on the utility
