Honda, Hyundai, Nissan and Subaru Join Suppliers Partnership for the Environment

WASHINGTON--March 20, 2012: The Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP) today announced that American Honda Motor Co Inc., Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc., Nissan North America Inc. and Subaru of America Inc. have become members of SP.

"We are very pleased to welcome these four new automobile manufacturers into SP," said SP's Chair, Randy Leslie, Vice President and General Manager, Johnson Controls, Inc., Automotive Experience.  "SP is an innovative partnership of automobile OEMs and suppliers working together to advance environmental sustainability through the automotive supply chain in collaboration with the U.S. EPA.  Our new member companies are committed to reducing their environmental footprint and supporting the environmental innovation of their suppliers and will be an excellent addition to our partnership." 

The Board of Directors representatives from these companies include:

  • American Honda Motor Co Inc.: Ichiro Sakai, Assistant Vice President
  • Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc.: Jake Welland, Materials Development Manager
  • Nissan North America Inc.: Yasumi Nakamura, Manager, Environment, Government Affairs
