MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – March 9, 2012: The luxurious S-Class has added further success to its outstanding list of achievements by collecting the prestigious Car Buyer Best Luxury Car award 2012.

Over the last 12 months the Car Buyer team judges have rated every new car in the UK, based on factors their readers voted the most important: such as running costs, safety, economy, performance and owner satisfaction, as well as reliability and comfort. While many competitors have tried, none have managed to topple the S-Class from the top of the Luxury car segment.

The judges agreed that: “Beautifully built and offering unrivalled comfort, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is still the best luxury car on sale.”

The Mercedes-Benz flagship model already has an impressive history of award success, including WhatCar? Best Luxury Car of the Year for the last seven consecutive years, and six years as Auto Express’s Best Luxury car.

‘We know we have a great car in the S-Class, a pinnacle of luxurious motoring at its best. Our flagship saloon has continued to impress since we launched it in 2005 but we haven’t rested on our laurels. In the last year we have introduced BlueTEC clean diesel technology, and stop/start to the range – all of which has had a positive impact on both fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions,’ said Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK Limited.

The S 350 BlueTEC now returns 45.6 mpg on the combined cycle, an improvement of ten per cent and emits 154 g/km of CO2 which is a seven per cent reduction. Since its launch in 2005 over 440,000 S-Class have been sold worldwide and over 13,800 of these were sold in the UK. The S 350 BlueTEC is available on the road from £60,605.00 and £64,605.00 for the S 350 BlueTEC LWB.
