Nissan North America Names Vinay Shahani Director, Marketing Communications and Media

Nashville TN February 21, 2012; Nissan North America today announced that Vinay Shahani has been named
director, marketing communications and media, Nissan North America,
effective April 1. He will report to Jon Brancheau, vice president, Nissan
marketing.
In his new role, Shahani will lead marketing strategies and initiatives
that enhance Nissan’s brand and sales power. He succeeds Bill Peffer,
who on April 1 is taking on a new role as managing director, Nissan
(Australia) Pty. Ltd.
Shahani, who currently serves as Dallas-area general manager, joined Nissan
in 2004 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in
manufacturing, product marketing, and sales. Shahani holds a
bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of
Michigan, a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering and
an MBA from Stanford University.
“Vinay brings a proven track record and deep understanding of
Nissan’s operations to his new role,” says Brancheau.
“I’m confident that in this critical position, Vinay’s
strong industry knowledge will help further drive opinion of the Nissan
brand and increase purchase intention of our cars and trucks.”
