Vauxhall Fashion Scout Announces: Ones To Watch Men Winners AW12/13

LUTON, UNITED KINGDOM – Feb 9, 2012: Vauxhall Fashion Scout - the internationally recognised home of new talent - is delighted to announce BODYBOUND, Joseph Turvey, Julian Zigerli and TOBEFRANK as the line up for Ones To Watch MEN for AW12/13.

Ones To Watch MEN is a platform for four of the hottest new talents, selected by panel of industry experts. This season the Judging Panel included Katy England, Holly Shackleton Editor of i-D Magazine, Jessica Bumpus of Vogue.com, Style Bubble’s Susie Lau, Marios Schwab, Felder Felder, David Koma, Hanna Emslie from Selfridges, Zara Martin for Village Bicycle, Rebekah Roy, and Vauxhall Fashion Scoutīs Founder and Director, Martyn Roberts.

Kim Chong, the designer behind BODYBOUND, joined the team at Alexander McQueen, before continuing his studies at the Royal College of Art with a MA in menswear. After working for brands such as Emernigildo Zegna and Matthew Williamson, Kim set up BODYBOUND, with an aim to bring the ‘dazzle’ back to menswear. The new collection ‘Dystopia’, explores symbols of conformity and paradox.

Finding inspiration in iconic men from both the past and present, Joseph Turvey is constantly pushing the boundaries of existing menswear conceptions. Mastering a mixture of experimental textures and digital prints, the London College of Fashion graduate continually brings new and original ideas to the catwalk. Joseph has recently graduated with a MA in Fashion Design Technology and has transferred his illustration style into menswear collections.

Upon graduating from The University of Art in Berlin, Julian Zigerli returned to Switzerland to set up his own, self-entitled design label, with his first collection being shortlisted for the Swiss Design Prize in 2011. Designed for the fashion confident and stylish individual, the founding concept of the Julian Zigerli label is the construction of the garments using innovative Swiss textiles.

ToBeFrank is a menswear label that has been inspired by the original gentleman. Born in Rotherham - Frank Philips finds inspiration from the branches of her family tree. Having studied Fashion at Huddersfield University, Frank went onto intern at Anna Sui in New York, and gained trading experience at Topman. The label celebrates the life of the past and the men of the future with dynamic cut and tailoring to dress today’s gentleman.

As well as showcasing the four designers in a collaborative show, Ones To Watch MEN also offers designers business support and sponsorship opportunities. Ones To Watch MEN will take place on Wednesday 22nd February 2012 at the official Vauxhall Fashion Scout venue Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden.
