Auto Central January 20, 2012; The cover of the January 23 issue of Autoweek states in a big bold headline:
Back on Point - New Dodge Dart Rocks Detroit Show
In addition to the headline the cover features the above photo of a 2013 Dodge Dart parked outside of what may be an inner city Detroit loft/former factory building or a set (or both). The article on page 11 was written for Autoweek by Bob Gritzinger and reports that “it has been a full generation in car years since Dodge offered a compact sedan, and even longer since the brand offered a truly competitive model in the segment”.
In fact the Dodge Dart was built and sold in North America from 1960 until 1976, for those of you out in TACH-land Wikipedia has an in-depth history of the Dart with historic pictures sales figures and lots of contributor editorial, it’s well worth a visit
Although the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart looks like a Dodge and will be imported from Detroit, it has an Italian lineage to it, as it is based on the made in Italy Alpha Romeo Giulietta, another sibling of Chrysler parent Fiat.
