How Prophetic Were Top Auto Executives? - VIDEO FEATURE

Review of past key speeches reveals interesting mix of accurate and inaccurate predictions

A couple of times a day we choose a video to feature in our main video window on TheAutoChannel.com front page. This morning I was looking for something a little different. I wanted something that could give some perspective to the state of the auto industry today - and consequentially to the state of our economy today. So my search took me back to some of the various keynote and policy speeches that we were able to videotape over the past several years.
The video I chose for the front page is that of Nissan-Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. I chose it because Mr. Ghosn's speech was made shortly after Barak Obama's election as president. And considering how Obama has failed in every single aspect of what he "campaign promised" to do (from re-instilling world faith in America to peace to economic recovery); I thought it was the most significant.
However, I found that each of the videos I reviewed offered many remarkably insightful and sometimes stupid comments from the top executives at the various auto-related companies; so much so that I thought it was worth compiling the videos on one page for you, our audience, to enjoy.
And by the way, only The Auto Channel can offer you this perspective because only The Auto Channel cared enough to record and archive these videos.
