SYDNEY – Dec 7, 2011: Ssangyong is making inroads in the minds of Australian consumers, having recently been identified by GoAutoNews and the consumer website GoAuto.com.au as the fourth fastest growing car brand in the country.

Even while current economic conditions are seen by many as tough, the company’s 40 per cent sales increase in 2011 coincides with a renewed two-pronged focus for Ssangyong; the Korando representing a new direction, and the new tagline, ‘a lot of car, a little price,’ speaking directly to a generation of consumers with an economic downturn fresh in their minds.

Jeff Barber, Director of Ssangyong Australia, is not surprised there is increasing interest in the Ssangyong range and particularly the Korando; reflected by the dominance of SUVs and Pickups in the industry sales rankings. In particular Compact Sports Utility Vehicle and 4WD Dual Cab Pickup sales continue to trend upward while other sectors in the market decline.

“We’re in the business of providing Australians with quality, value for money options, whilst still providing the safety and luxury items desired in a modern car, such as the option of Front Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive, or Four Wheel Drive, ESP & ABS, blue tooth audio streaming and more.”

“I encourage anyone in the market to try and find better value. When we say a lot of car, a little price, we mean it,” concluded Mr Barber.

The Korando is the newest addition to the Ssangyong range, and is quickly proving it has what it takes to compete in the highly competitive compact SUV sector. Alongside excellent performance and handling, the Korando boasts stylish design by living legend of automotive design, Giorgetto Giugiaro.

As well as the Korando, Ssangyong’s range of diesel vehicles features the functional and tough Actyon Tradie Ute, the all terrain 4WD Kyron, and two family-friendly seven-seaters, the Rexton SUV and the Stavic MPV.

Ssangyong is currently offering massive price reductions as part of its Summer Challenge. To discover more or find a dealer near you, visit www.ssangyong.com.au.
