Famous E-Type Awarded Restoration Of The Year At International Awards Ceremony

LONDON – Nov 18, 2011: A Shropshire company, which took 7,000 hours to restore what is now recognised as the one of the most famous E-Type Jaguar’s in the world, has been awarded “Restoration of the Year” at an International awards ceremony in London.

A team of craftsmen at Classic Motor Cars in Bridgnorth brought the car back to life from a mangled wreck and were able to save 90% of the original car.

“It was a real labour of love,” said Nick Goldthorp, Managing Director of CMC, who are based in Bridgnorth, “It proves that British craftsmanship and dedication is alive and well.”

The Octane International Historic Motoring awards were held at the newly refurbished St Pancras Renaissance hotel. An international panel of judges including five Times Le Mans winner Derek Bell, TV host, columnist and collector Jay Leno, Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason and Lady Susie Moss coming together to judge 11 categories including restoration of the Year.
