LAS VEGAS, Nov. 15, 2011: Phil Giebler Racing will enter 14 drivers including recent Lancaster Grand Prix winner Shawn Cricca and Firestone Indy Lights driver Joel Miller in the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XV taking place from Wednesday through Sunday (Nov. 16-20) on a temporary course at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

“This is the Super Bowl of karting in the United States,” Giebler said. “There will be intense competition in every class. In most of the classes, there will be over 30 drivers who will not qualify for the final races on Sunday. Qualifying and the heat races are extremely important. We have a very solid group of drivers and they’re ready to do battle.”

Cricca (pictured) of Simi Valley, Calif., won the prestigious Lancaster feature and Miller of Hesperia, Calif., was fifth in TaG Senior in October. PGR will also have Jess Peterson of Sparks, Nev., Emily Maddison of Calgary, Canada, and Andrew Wiener of Chula Vista, Calif. in TaG Senior.

_dsc0207.jpg“Shawn is fresh of his victory at Lancaster and he’ll be a strong contender and Joel has a very good chance to put his FA Kart at the front of the 80-kart field as well,” Giebler said. “Joel has a lot of experience and knows how to win. Jess is going to be a strong contender as well. He has won several races this year in northern California, so I know he’ll be right there.

“The youngsters in the group are 16-year-old Emily and 15-year-old Andrew. They have been improving all year long, learning a lot and gaining valuable experience.”

Mason Daughters, a 14-year-old from Kansas City, Mo., and Felipe Gildin of Brazil are PGR’s entrants in TaG Junior.

“Mason has come a long way over the past year and he is looking to finish off the year in style,” Giebler said. “He is learning tracks quickly and that will be an advantage going into this race that has a new layout.”

Gildin, Bryce Watson of Australia, Alex Humbert of France, Fauzi Dib Saad of Mexico, Antonio Furlan of Brazil and Jorge Borelli of Brazil will be driving in their first event for PGR..

“I’m excited to see how our new drivers will do this weekend,” Giebler said. “Bryce Watson (TaG Master) has been running very well in his part of the world and he showed very well when he raced with us early in the year at Willow Springs (Calif.). I think he is going to surprise some of the guys in the TaG Master field.

“Alex Humbert will be racing in the international class (KF2) as well as Antonio Furlan. In the S2 category, we have Fauzi Dib Saad. Jorge Borelli will be doubling up this weekend, racing in TaG Master and G1.”

Steve Wiener of Chula Vista, Calif., will compete in TaG Master and Vatche Tatikian of North Hollywood, Calif., will be in S4. They’re both PGR regulars.

All 14 PGR drivers will be in FA Karts. Cricca and Miller will have Vortex Rok engines built by D Power Racing Engines.
