- "For making outstanding contributions in her field, and for being a role model and leader for others"
Su Kyeong Cho, Digital Manufacturing Project and Systems Lead, Chrysler Group LLC, received the Women of Color Professional Leadership Award at the 15th Women of Color Conference on Saturday evening in Dallas.
The Women of Color awards recognize the most innovative professionals
in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields for their
career accomplishments despite the traditional obstacles faced by women in
these fields. The Women of Color Conference is the only multi-cultural
celebration held to honor the significant achievements of women in
technology.
Cho received this prestigious diversity award "for making outstanding
contributions in her field, and for being a role model and leader for
others."
"The Women of Color Award clearly identifies some of the most
influential business and community leaders in the U.S.," said Scott Sandschafer, Vice President of Information
and Communication Technology, Chrysler Group LLC. "Chrysler Group is proud
that Women of Color magazine and Career Communications Group
recognize Su's extraordinary accomplishments as an engineer and emerging
leader."
As Digital Manufacturing Project and Systems Lead, Cho directs a
Body-in-White IT manufacturing team to deploy a common product
manufacturing process development/IT platform between Chrysler Group and
Fiat, as well as to integrate product design and manufacturing in the same
environment. She earned bachelor's and master's of science degrees from the
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Daejeon South
Korea. Cho also earned a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the same
institution.
"Su joins a long list of accomplished women leaders at Chrysler Group
who've received this prestigious recognition," said Nancy A. Rae, Senior Vice President - Human
Resources, Chrysler Group LLC. "These women are terrific role models and
provide great inspiration highlighting the exciting career opportunities in
the automotive industry."
"It is an incredible honor to be recognized in this way along with
such outstanding and accomplished women leaders," Cho said. "I want to
thank my family and friends for their love and support, and those who have
mentored me throughout my career, for their wisdom and guidance. I learn
from the talented engineers around me and Chrysler Group's leadership has
provided a very supportive environment for professional growth."

Council and reaffirmed the commitment of Chrysler's leadership team to the
values and principles of diversity. "Culture is the fabric that holds
organizations together. It is not just an ingredient for success; it is the
essence of success itself," Marchionne wrote. "This is why my leadership
team and I are committed to creating an atmosphere where all of our people
feel respected and valued, because every person plays an important role in

DiversityInc magazine named Chrysler Group to the magazine's 2011
list of "Top 50 Companies for Diversity." This coveted annual benchmark is
comprised of companies the magazine's editors believe are
diversity-management leaders. This was the fifth year since the list was
established in 2001 that Chrysler has been included. In April 2011, Chrysler Group was named among nation's
"Top Supporters" of Engineering Programs of Historically Black Colleges and
Universities, recognizing the Company's efforts to develop, recruit and
hire talented students pursuing technical careers at the nation's
minority-serving institutions.
