ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – Oct 26, 2011: Out of 66 countries competing at the seventh annual Twin Cup championship, Audi Australia finished 3rd for service. The two day event final held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, saw the best international service and technical teams from the Audi dealer network compete, including 3 employees the Audi network in Australia. Incorporating a combination of parts and services the Twin Cup championship involved 66 teams from 35 nations. The winners were honored by Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales at AUDI AG, who emphasised the importance of service for the brand.

“Premium service worldwide is a personal concern of mine. It’s increasingly becoming a deciding factor for customers and is the key to our success at the dealership,” said Mr Schwarzenbauer at the award ceremony of the Audi Twin Cup 2011.

Earlier, participants competing in the international final had once again demonstrated their combined service expertise in theory and practice. Schwarzenbauer: “You all gave an impressive demonstration of what good service is all about, putting the customer at the centre of everything you do, whenever he or she comes into contact with Audi.”

All 66 teams in the international final were winners even before travelling to Mallorca. After more than six months of intensive preparation and hard competition, the teams won their national competitions in which a total of 3,000 teams’ worldwide, comprising more than 9,000 technicians and service advisers, took part – a new record.

“The Audi Twin Cup gives people who are committed to providing excellent service every day an ideal platform for demonstrating their expertise and efficiency,” explains Bernd Hoffmann, Executive Director Service and Genuine Parts at AUDI AG.

Audi Australia General Manager of Aftersales, Lydon Bain, said the company is extremely pleased with their result, and is looking forward to encouraging the team to the number one place in 2012.

The Audi Twin Cup is traditionally an equal test of technical knowledge and systematic customer orientation. Only those participants who are able to combine both skills have a real chance of winning this challenging service competition. In the 2011 final, even greater emphasis than in previous years was placed on close and efficient cooperation between technicians and service advisers – a decisive prerequisite for all-round premium service across all areas at the dealership. The joint task for the teams was to diagnose faults competently in prepared vehicles, find optimum solutions and exhibit exemplary personal skills when interacting with customers.

The Audi Twin Cup has been held once a year since 1996. All members of the Audi dealer network with a service contract with AUDI AG may participate.
