FYI: Audi Buyer's Guide

HERNDON, VA--Oct. 5, 2011: Audi today announces AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety (AAAFTS) as its official partner for the "Driver's Pledge," a national initiative that challenges drivers to take a stand and champion responsible driving behavior.  Together with the Foundation, Audi encourages drivers across America to pledge to be smarter, safer, more efficient drivers in hopes of making the road a more intelligent place and allowing drivers to once again enjoy the road. Supporters can visit www.driverspledge.com to participate.

"We're excited to partner with AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety on the 'Driver's Pledge,'" said Scott Keogh, chief marketing officer of Audi of America.  "It was imperative for Audi to align with an organization doing great work across multiple issues confronted by drivers today. AAAFTS is a nationally recognized traffic safety leader that has researched the myriad of road safety and driver behavioral issues this campaign is targeting."

Participants taking the "Driver's Pledge" will make a promise to refrain from texting while driving as well as not engage in other in distracted driving behaviors.  By taking the "Driver's Pledge" and sharing it with others, participants will be entered to win a grand prize trip for two to the Audi Sportscar Experience Challenge at the Audi Forum Sonoma in Northern, Calif.

AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety is a not-for-profit, publicly-supported charitable educational and research organization that is dedicated to saving lives and reducing injuries on the roads.

"As part of our ongoing commitment to change the traffic safety culture in this country, we hope that all drivers would not only support this campaign and take the pledge to drive more carefully, but permanently change their behavior," noted Peter Kissinger, AAAFTS President & CEO. "Let's remember that over 30,000 men, women and children are killed each year in motor vehicle crashes."

Audi also has made a pledge of its own. If 25,000 total pledges are reached during the initiative, Audi will donate $25,000 to AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.  If 100,000 total pledges are reached, Audi will donate an additional $50,000. Drivers have until November 30, 2011 to pledge. Audi's contributions will support additional Foundation research to make driving safer.

The "Driver's Pledge" is part of a larger campaign for the all-new 2012 Audi A6, one of Audi's most innovative and technologically-advanced models to date, that calls attention to the increasingly challenging road conditions American drivers face today and galvanizes enthusiasts to take action.
