K-PAX Performance Cars & Borla Performance Announce Partnership

California. (August 17, 2011) – K-PAX Performance Cars of Sunnyvale, California and Borla Performance of Oxnard, California are proud to announce their newly formed partnership. The companies will partner to jointly develop a complete line of high-flow performance exhaust systems for Volvos, manufactured at Borla’s manufacturing facility in Tennesse. The products will be exclusively available at Volvo retailers in North America as a dealer-installed option.

The first exhaust system to be introduced will be for the 2011 C30 R- Design. This is the same highly-flow performance exhaust system that will be featured on the recently introduced Volvo C30 GT K-PAX Racing Edition. All systems come with a factory-matching 5-year/60,000 mile limited warranty.

All of the performance exhaust systems will be sold under the “K-PAX Racing” brand and will distinguish themselves from the competition by higher levels of quality, significant improvements in flow (resulting in more power), and a distinct performance sound that the Volvo customer can live with on daily basis.

“It was very important for us to develop a system that not only provided improved levels of performance but also sounded good but not to the point where it would be intrusive. Most Volvo customers use their vehicles as daily drivers, commuting to work, and so on, so it was crucial that the system we provided would allow them to do so in a comfortable environment. Volvos 5-cylinder turbo engines are fantastic powerplants, but with larger diameter exhaust pipes they have a tendency to create a “drone” in the 2000-3000rpm range, which is the typical engine speed during highway driving. In developing the C30 GT, eliminating the “drone” was our biggest challenge, but together with Borla and some clever engineering we were able to develop the best performance exhaust system on the market for the C30” says Peter J Nielsen, President of K-PAX Performance Cars.

The K-PAX Racing performance exhausts for the C30 R-Design will be available at Volvo retailers beginning in August 2011.
