CEDAR PARK, August 16, 2011: It really wasn't a dare, but rather quickly it's becoming a done deal. Beginning on September 10, the normally blue/white/orange TBS Racing's #50 Thunder Stock will go pink and stay that way for the remainder of the 2011 racing season.

Aaron Brungot, driver and owner of the #50 car, shared a couple of touching stories behind this new "Race the Pink" campaign.

"Last year I witnessed a most heartfelt, sad chain of events that affected a family friend," commented Brungot. "It was something that we can all only hope won't happen to any of us."

Brungot's family friend, Terry Zeimetz, watched her daughter Tina battle for her life against breast cancer. Tina was only a mere 33 years old, and she had been battling Stage IV breast cancer for two years before she passed away in November of last year. Following her daughter's struggle, Zeimetz became a huge advocate in the battle against breast cancer, spending countless hours spreading the word about the importance of early detection and treatment options.

"Terry recently told me that she wanted to do the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk in honor of Tina," said Brungot. "It's one of the most challenging events you'll ever see, and I told her I wanted to be on board to support her efforts. What I didn't realize at the time I committed to Terry is that this battle would soon strike even closer to home."

On the very day the teaser campaign for the "Race the Pink" campaign was going to start, Brungot's brother Melvin shared the news that his fiancée, Karen Jenness, had been diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer.

"When my Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was floored," added Brungot. "Karen has been in our family's life for a long time. She's in her 30s and has two children. I find it hard to wrap my mind around the challenges that she and her (our) family will now face."

Many different ideas have been thrown around about the overall paint scheme, but the entire TBS Racing Team agrees that the #50 will undergo a complete makeover. A couple of the car's sponsors - Terry's Body Shop and Screen Pro Graphics - will get some special help from TrueLine Race Graphics (Hondo, TX) to design special wraps that are being made for the trunk and hood of the car.

"It's awesome what TrueLine is going to do for us," said Brungot. "We're going to give every fan an opportunity to honor someone who has been affected by breast cancer by writing their names on the hood or trunk. We'll also race with the special breast cancer decals during the last two races of the 2011 season."

During the remaining races - and any other event outside of those races - the #50 Race team will be collecting donations to help Zeimetz meet the required fundraising goals to participate in the walk.

Brungot has also announced that he will be donating all of his race winnings for the remainder of the season to the Jenness family.

"Although her medical bills are being covered by insurance, Karen has told me that she has no idea how she can provide for her basic family needs when she can't work," commented Brungot. "We're all struggling to finance our race teams during these current tough economic conditions, and normally I'd use my winnings to continue racing. However, I hope to find enough sponsorship to help me cover the cost of racing."
