Eaton’s Davis Leads Discussion on Designing Efficient Powertrains that Benefit Consumers, Environment at CAR Management Briefing Seminars

TRAVERSE CITY, MI—Ausugt 1, 2011: … Ken Davis, president of diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation’s Vehicle Group, called for a greater focus on developing vehicle powertrains that benefit both the consumer and the environment during his keynote speech at the Powertrain Forum at the 2011 Center for Automotive Research (CAR) Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City “We all need to make this a better world by designing and manufacturing innovative products and complete powertrains that benefit both the consumer and the environment,” Davis said.

Davis added, “Everyone can benefit if we continue to do business right: suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, consumers – and all of our children, as we make the world a cleaner place for generations to come.”

Davis shared the stage with Brett Smith, co-director, Manufacturing, Engineering & Technology Group and Assistant Research Director, Center for Automotive Research; Charlie Klein, director, Global Mass, Energy, and Aerodynamics, General Motors Company; Nancy Gioia, director, Electrification, Ford Motor Company; Douglas E. Patton, senior vice president, Engineering Division, DENSO International America, Inc.; Justin Ward, advanced powertrain program manager, Advanced Technology Vehicles, Fuel Cell and Hybrid Vehicle Group, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing N.A. Inc.; and Mike Donoughe, chief operating officer, Bright Automotive, Inc.

For more than 45 years, The CAR Management Briefing Seminars have been one of the critical connection points for North American automotive participants—and, by extension, the global industry. The CAR Advanced Powertrain Forum annually brings together experts from vehicle manufacturers, technology suppliers, and other stakeholders to address the challenges of automotive powertrain strategy in a highly uncertain market.
