GM's Nesbitt Tells All" Innovation, Growth in Automotive Design & Production

DETROIT--Aug. 1, 2011: Bryan Nesbitt knows a thing or two about collaboration and creativity. The vice president of Shanghai-based General Motors International Operations Design and "Brand Champion" for Chinese vehicle manufacturers Wuling and Baojun, tells Automotive Design & Production in its July/August issue: "You want to inspire and encourage your team to look out of the box and find ways to spawn creativity. It can be a very small world if you're just looking within the context of automotive." The man behind many vehicle designs --including the iconic PT Cruiser (yes, he worked at Chrysler, too) --explains the keys to inspiring creativity, the power of influence, and the role of communication in the design process.
Also in the July/August issue:
- Plastics developments: including a polycarbonate roof for a royal wedding.
- Analyses of the 2012 Hyundai Accent, Prius v, Acura TL, and Saab 9-4X.
- Advances in safety technology from TRW Automotive.
- How Ford is achieving flexible assembly plants.
