Resurgent Renault Posts Strongest Sales Month Since April 2002
VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – July 5, 2011: Renault has continued its strong growth in Australia posting its strongest sales month since April 2002. According to VFACTS figures released today, Renault delivered 410 new vehicles in June 2011, which equates to a significant growth of 75.2% year-to-date and a phenomenal 298.1% increase over June 2010.
Both the Mégane hatch and its sibling, the Fluence sedan posted their best sales months since the new design was launched in November 2010, underlining the appeal of affordable pricing and very generous equipment levels.
“This result in June confirms our view that the repositioning of the Renault brand in Australia was the correct move, and we are confident we will continue to grow sales in this competitive market. In June we achieved a strong result for Renault,” said Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.
“We are committed to making the Renault brand a success in Australia. We are attracting new customers to the brand thanks to our fresh, attractive model range and our confidence-inspiring 5-year warranty on all passenger vehicles. And we have even more new models to add this year, which will further bolster our momentum, notably the new Renault Koleos compact crossover SUV.
“We are very excited about the future of the Renault brand in Australia, particularly now that we have announced we will be the first European brand to sell a Zero Emission electric car in this market next year. While other European brands are patently still at the concept stage, our solution to zero emissions motoring is in production in Europe and on the launch pad for Australia,” Justin said.
