WESTMONT, May 13, 2011: The biggest race event to date in the brief history of the Cayman Interseries will take place at North America’s premier celebration of Porsche’s illustrious racing history at Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV, October 14 – 16, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Officials from Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) and Napleton Porsche of Westmont, the ownership and operating organization of the Cayman Interseries, confirmed the addition of the historic-themed Porsche Cayman S racing series to the Rennsport Reunion IV lineup today with the announcement of the event’s race groupings and schedules. The Cayman Interseries will compete in Group 6.

The Cayman Interseries is a modern-day showcase of Porsche competition excellence as well as a rolling tribute to the heritage and history of some of the most famous Porsche racing cars of all time. The series features the exclusive use of 2009 through 2011 Porsche Cayman S models that are raced in near-stock configuration by a competitive group of emerging and sportsman drivers. The heritage connection comes in the form of each Cayman’s livery that has a direct and visible link to a legendary or unique Porsche race car from the past.

“When we were invited to participate in Rennsport Reunion IV we didn’t hesitate to accept the gracious offer,” said Napleton Porsche General Manager and Cayman Interseries President and Founder Ron Barnaba. “The last time this incredible event took place, the Cayman Interseries was just an idea that was in part inspired by the type of celebration and rolling tribute that is one of the unique aspects of each Rennsport Reunion. We are honored to be a part of the fourth edition and this will be without question our biggest and most prestigious event since the Cayman Interseries was introduced in 2009.”

The Rennsport Reunion is a unique and rare event that reunites the cars and drivers that together have written Porsche’s motorsports history during the last 60 years on all five continents. The Cayman Interseries is a logical addition to Rennsport in that it symbolically continues the rich history of many of these famous race cars while spotlighting the performance of the Porsche Cayman S.

As in the past three reunions, cars will be grouped by the period in which they raced so that enthusiasts can fully focus on the different motorsports eras. The Cayman Interseries will participate in its own run group and, along with a race for modern 911 Cup cars, will likely provide some of the most exciting racing of the weekend.

“Our competing Caymans look like some of the most famous, and now priceless, Porsche race cars of all time but they were built with racing and close competition in mind,” Barnaba said. “Seeing these famous and historic liveries in full competition action once again is what the Cayman Interseries is all about, and the Rennsport Reunion will provide the perfect stage.”

Only in the Cayman Interseries can you see modern interpretations of such famous Porsche race cars as the Sunoco/Penske Racing 917-30, the Gulf/Wyer, Salzburg, Martini, Richard Piper Racing and “Pink Pig” Porsche 917s, the factory Shell/Dunlop, Joest and Advan/Brun Porsche 962s, the Akin/Coca-Cola Porsche 935 and Porsche 962, and so many more.

Additional details of the Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV will be published on Porsche’s press web site (www.press.porsche.com), and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s web site (http:// www.mazdaraceway.com), as they become available.
