Delaware, Apr. 26, 2011: There will be four JEGS Mail Order entries competing in this weekend’s event including Mike Coughlin (Top Sportsman), T.J. Coughlin (Super Comp), and Jeg Coughlin’s fiancée, Samantha Kenny (Super Comp and Super Gas).

Collectively, the Coughlin family has appeared in ten final rounds at the Indianapolis Lucas Oil Series event, and has garnered eight wins.

All told, the Coughlin family has won 50 Lucas Oil Series races in 70 final round appearances.

In 2008, John and Mike Coughlin both found the winner’s circle at Lucas Oil Raceway as John claimed the Super Stock title and Mike won in Top Sportsman.

The Coughlin family has also won the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway eight times. Jeg Coughlin has claimed three Pro Stock wins and one Super Gas title. Troy Coughlin Sr. won the Super Gas title in 1991 while Mike Coughlin collected two wins in the Pro Stock Truck class in 1999 and 2001. Most recently, third generation racer T.J. claimed the Super Comp title in 2010. In addition, John Coughlin won the U.S. Nationals as a car owner in 2005 when Brad Plourd drove his JEGS Mail Order dragster to the Super Comp title.

T.J. is currently ranked second in a heated multi-way battle to make the JEGS Allstars team in Joliet. He is currently just one point behind leader Leo Zynda with two qualifying events remaining.

Samantha will be joined in Indianapolis by her father, Alan, and brother, Jason, who are both former NHRA national event champions.

Jeg Coughlin Sr., Jeg Coughlin Jr., and John Coughlin have each won four North Central Division season championships while Mike Coughlin has two for a total of 14.

The Coughlin’s have won Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events in nine different classes, Top Fuel, Pro Comp, Super Eliminator, Comp, Super Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Top Dragster, and Top Sportsman.

The Coughlin’s have won Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events at 17 different tracks across North America including races in six of NHRA’s seven geographic divisions. They have not won in Division 6, the Pacific Northwest.

Family patriarch Jeg Coughlin Sr. won his first Lucas Oil Series event when he claimed the Super Eliminator title at Windsor Dragway in Windsor, Ontario in 1969. The recent Hall of Fame inductee won ten Lucas Oil Series events in 17 final round appearances during his prestigious driving career.
