Visit the Mall - Do 250km/h With Jim

QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA – April 21, 2011: If you visit Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall on Thursday May 12 you could find yourself travelling at around 250km/h beside racing champion Jim Richards. Legally.

Shannons Insurance in conjunction with the Historic Racing Car Club of Queensland, is giving four motoring enthusiasts the ride of their life beside the seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner in his brand new 620HP (456kW) twin-turbo Porsche GT2 RS at Queensland’s famous Lakeside Circuit on Monday August 15 this year.

Everyone qualifying for Shannons Car, Bike or Home insurance quote at the Mall display – or at three other major HRCC Queensland events this year – will go into a draw to win a ride in Richards’ 330km/h Porsche. And as a bonus on May 12, you will also meet ‘Gentleman Jim’, get his autograph and eyeball his GT2 RS between 12pm-2pm.

Other opportunities to ride with Jim in the Porsche at Lakeside will be drawn from those obtaining an insurance quote from the Shannons Super Rig at Cooly Rocks On Coolangatta festival on June 11-12 and at the Shannons Sports & Muscle Car Spectacular at Queensland Raceway on June 25-26.

Another great incentive to go to the Sports & Muscle Car Spectacular, will be to see Richards demonstrating his brand new AMC Javelin Touring Car Masters contender for the first time in Queensland.

As well as Richards’ GT2, the Brisbane Street Mall will be full of a number of other great high performance cars on May 12.
