TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – March 22, 2011: Honda Australia’s interactive ‘Dream Wall’ has won the ‘Best Entertainment’ trophy at the 17th annual Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) Awards.

A first for Australia, the ‘Dream Wall’ debuted at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney in 2010 and brought together Honda’s digital agency DTDigital and creative technology company Boffswana.

Honda’s ‘Dream Wall’ uses cutting-edge facial recognition and emotion-sensing technology to power unique animations triggered by a person’s smile. It features a series of concealed cameras along the front of an enormous 2.1m by 5.5m wall of plasma screens.

The cameras track and detect people as they walk past. Specialised object recognition software then analyses the camera data to determine facial expressions. People simply smile and enjoy their ‘Dream Wall’ experience.

Over the course of the Motor Show, nearly 10,000 dreams were created. News about the ‘Dream Wall’ spread across the online world.

Honda Australia’s Marketing Manager, Mr. Kevin Lillie described the ‘Dream Wall’ as “the ultimate demonstration of Honda’s ‘clever thinking, joyful design’ positioning.”

Digital Marketing Manager at Honda Australia, Ms. Corinne Wilson; “We wanted to create something that would really stand out at the Motor Show. We are delighted the ‘Dream Wall’ has been recognised among the very strong finalists in this year’s AIMIA Awards.”
