DEARBORN, MI--March 17, 2011:
- Forty-seven global suppliers received Ford's World Excellence Awards for 2010
- Ford's supplier partners are recognized for achieving the highest level of excellence in quality, cost and delivery
Ford Motor Company recognized its 2010 top performing global suppliers Wednesday evening with the World Excellence Awards, the company's highest recognition for its suppliers across the globe. Forty-seven suppliers representing 16 countries were recognized at the 13th annual event.
The World Excellence Awards honor production and nonproduction suppliers that have aligned themselves with the values and operating practices of Ford while reaching the highest quality, technology, cost and delivery standards. The winning companies represent thousands of employees who bring diverse cultures, values and ideas to Ford in the products and services they provide.
Tony Brown, group vice president, Global Purchasing, thanked Ford's supplier partners for their commitment to helping Ford deliver high-quality products to customers. "The One Ford transformation would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our suppliers. Our 2010 World Excellence Award winners have shown an unwavering commitment to excellence in technology, quality and cost efficiency. Congratulations, and thank you for helping Ford serve customers with the best vehicles in the world," said Brown.
"We made tremendous progress on the One Ford plan in 2010 and the partnership with our suppliers was absolutely critical in making that happen," said Alan Mulally, Ford president and CEO. "Thanks to all of our World Excellence Award winners for the work you are doing to contribute to our mutual success and serve our global customers with the very best cars and trucks."
There are three levels of World Excellence Awards: Gold, Silver and Recognition of Achievement. Gold and Silver awards are presented to suppliers demonstrating superior quality, delivery and cost performance. Fifteen Gold and 26 Silver awards were presented this year.
Recognition of Achievement is given to suppliers that improve customer satisfaction by providing significant contributions in key areas: New Consumer-Focused Technology, Consumer-Driven Six Sigma, Durability and Reliability Performance, Corporate Responsibility, Community Service, and a new award for Supplier Diversity Development. Twelve suppliers received Recognition of Achievement awards.
