LOUISVILLE, KY - March 14, 2011: According to reported sales figures it looks like February was the first time in about six months that cars out sold trucks. While this relatively short period is statistically irrelevant, except as a point of discussion when you have nothing else to say to the guy in the bathroom stall next to you, it may signify that rising gas prices entered into the decision making process of what consumers buy. Of course, this point only makes logical sense, so it's really not a big point. A more surprising point would be if $5 per gallon gasoline prices didn't affect vehicle purchasing decisions. In any event, TheAutoChannel.com, the Internet's most complete and comprehensive automotive information resource presents this list of the top ten most fuel-efficient hybrid and non-hybrid cars currently being sold, based on fuel economy and cost of gas (per 15,000 miles driven annually).  Interestingly, in the top 10 hybrids, four vehicles have a combined 40 MPG or better. On the other hand every vehicle in the top 10 non-hybrids offers a combined 30 MPG or better.
