Detroit--March 6, 2011: The Associated Press reports that last week's fire in a Magna International Inc. plant near Howell, Michigan continues to create havoc with the assembly lines at several automobile manufacturing plants. "The fire has forced General Motors Co. and Mazda Motor Corp. to stop making vehicles at some factories. The damaged Magna plant also makes parts for several Ford Motor Co., Nissan Motor Co., and Chrysler Group vehicles. Ford, Nissan and Chrysler factories have stayed open, but it’s uncertain for how long as Magna studies options to reopen the plant or make parts elsewhere," writes the AP's Tom Krisher.
