Homestead, Mar. 6, 2011: Homestead, Florida…The #33 Kinetic Motorsports BMW M3 E92 of Jade Buford and Bryan Sellers finished in the Top 15 at Homestead Miami Speedway today in the Grand Sport (GS) class, but the team expected a lot more out of the car.

After Jade Buford qualified the car 26th in the GS class, the team was expecting to quickly move up in the field. They dealt with issues throughout the weekend, including some with the motor, and Jade Buford and Bryan Sellers were able to gain 11 positions from qualifying. The 15th place finish is their best of the season so far in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Series.

Jade Buford, driver #33 Kinetic Motorsports BMW M3 E92:

“We actually did surprisingly well. We struggled with the car all weekend, but we just went out there and ran laps and did what we could do. I’m actually okay with how we did, considering what we dealt with this weekend. I’d like to thank the team, they did a phenomenal job and they never gave up trying to fix the issues that we had and we just made the best of it.”

“It was a difficult race, in all honesty. We struggled a lot for straight line speed, but given the difficulties and the struggles we did have, I think our result ended up being pretty good. We were in the Top 15 and at the beginning of the event we really weren’t sure where we were going to be at all. So, to walk away finishing the race and to move forward positions from our qualifying was an accomplishment on its own. I think that now we have a good direction of where we need to head in the future, which is probably as important as anything that was accomplished this weekend. I guess we will try and revamp things before we go to Barber and give it our best shot to be prepared there.”

Russell Smith, owner, Kinetic Motorsports

“For the BMW, it was a disappointing weekend. I think overall the team didn’t meet our normal standards and it was extremely disappointing for the drivers and a bit of a letdown so I feel dismayed about the whole result. We’ve got to come on strong for Barber. When the competition is as high as it is, it’s on us to compete at the same level and we’re not there just yet, so we’ve got a lot of work in front of us for Barber.” Sponsors of the #33 car for the 2011 season are Sail Air Travel, Inc. and Vion Hitachi Data Systems.
