HERNDON, VAFebruary 28, 2011: Audi of America and the Audi After Sales team today announced that it donated $10,000 to Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The money will be used toward a host of services provided by Sharing and Caring Hands to the over 20,000 homeless individuals, families and children who come through the facility each month.
"Each year the Audi After Sales team makes a substantial donation to charity on behalf our Audi service managers nationwide," said David S. Tait, Interim Director After Sales, Audi of America. "This year, the needs of the homeless in the Twin Cities region came to our attention amid this winter's harsh conditions. Sharing and Caring Hands was recommended as a worthy recipient from our local dealers and we acted on it."
Sharing and Caring Hands offers solutions to the local Twin Cities community such as helping larger families with shelter when the traditional smaller facilities cannot support them, according to Craig Carroll, business manager for Sharing and Caring Hands. In addition, funding available over and above their normal budgets allows them to help other needy families by keeping their heat on during the harsh winters when they may be a bit behind on their bills.
For the past 3 years, the Audi After Sales team has made donations to charities on behalf Audi service and parts managers nationwide. Prior donations have included the assembly and delivery of 72 bicycles to the Gila River community, and a substantial donation to the local Minnesota chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
