Honda's Newest Dealership Opens Its Doors
VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – February 17, 2011: Honda’s newest state-of-the-art dealership has opened its doors in Bundoora, Victoria.
Northway Honda is within walking distance to University Hill, Bundoora’s newest residential and commercial hub and will service the outer areas of Melbourne’s north.
The Dealership represents a significant investment in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor of around $11 million. The purpose-built facility houses a showroom and workshop under the one roof.
Northway Honda’s General Manager, Mr. Martin Luby explains the idea behind the dealership’s unique design. “The design was off the page, delivering a roofline which emulates the spoiler of a car, the interior with a glass ceiling fifty metres wide and a hydraulic lift for cars displayed on the second level of the building,” Mr. Luby said.
The hydraulic lift is the centrepiece of the dealership. Located in the middle of the showroom floor, the lift ascends from ground level, delivering cars up through the showroom with dramatic effect. Once at the first storey, cars are then driven into position around the half-moon display area.
“That’s nothing compared to the ingenious floor plan incorporating two stories of display space, an eleven bay service centre, spare parts centre and pre-owned cars all located around a central hub lounge – now that’s easy!” Mr. Luby said.
With a team of twenty, the dealership will provide the highest level of sales and customer service.
“The collective motor industry knowledge and expertise under the one roof makes us a primary source of information and a ‘one-stop-shop’ for Honda customers,” Mr. Luby said.
The project has taken two years to come to fruition, with Masbuild project-managing the 7,700 square meter space on Plenty Road in Bundoora. The design takes advantage of the prominent location and size of the land. It also includes a strong environmental element, involving a 70,000 litre water tank, recycling management of oil products and other waste and double-glazed glass on the entire building, including the roof, to help reduce energy consumption.
The dealership will house sixty new and fifty used cars, an express service centre, a Honda spare parts facility, a VIP customer lounge area with beverage amenities, meeting pods, plasma screens, free Wi-Fi and plenty of customer car parking. All this ensures every need of the customer is met.
