The grid for the 2011 Formula 3 Euro Series season fills and it goes without saying that each of the young talents wants to follow the footsteps of Edoardo Mortara (Signature). After all, the 2010 Euro Series Champion celebrated more race wins and podium finishes than any of his rivals.

In the 18 races, Mortara secured a total of 11 podiums – only seven times, the Italian didn't make it to the top three. Only once in the season, he had to encounter an entire race weekend without making it to the podium – and this occurred just at Oschersleben where he clinched the title.
The runner-up in the championship, Marco Wittmann (Signature) secured just one podium less than Mortara. Together with Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix) and Alexander Sims (ART Grand Prix), he belonged to the quartet of drivers who secured the majority of their podiums in the Saturday races.
Rookie António Félix da Costa (Motopark Academy) was the best Euro Series newcomer when it comes to podium finishes. For the Portuguese, his maiden win at the Nürburgring – around mid-season – represented the breakthrough. Afterwards, he celebrated another two race wins – and a third place in his team's home event, at Oschersleben.

Roberto Merhi (Mücke Motorsport) and Laurens Vanthoor (Signature) are the next drivers on the podium-finish ranking. Just as Félix da Costa, they secured only one podium on Saturday and won the rest of their trophies in the Sunday races.
Altogether, a total of twelve drivers had the pleasure of having won one or several trophies, in 2012.
