WTCC - Racasse Illustrates Chevrolet Calendar

Chevrolet’s new calendar for 2011 features the illustrations created by French artist Lucas Racasse. The theme of the calendar is Chevrolet’s winning season in the FIA WTCC, and in order to celebrate the world titles it was decided to give up with the usual racing pictures and entrust Racasse with the task of delivering his own view of the Chevrolet racing esprit.

“Using as a basis a collection of more than 5000 photos of the WTCC season, I tried to give life to the universe of motor racing through twelve original illustrations featuring the magic of the sport, the race moments, the weather conditions, the ambiance and emotions,” explained Racasse who lives in Brussels and has established himself as a creative and innovative artist in the technique of digital painting.

Eric Nève, Chevrolet Motorsport Manager commented: “We wanted to have a very special edition of our calendar. Firstly because 2011 will mark Chevrolet’s 100 years and secondly to celebrate our success in WTCC. We are extremely proud that a renowned artis like Racasse has accepted to illustrate this calendar.”
