Volvo Car Australia Announces Management Change

SYDNEY – January 25, 2011: Volvo Car Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Alan Desselss, has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Volvo Japan as of 1 March 2011.

Mr Desselss joined the company in 2001 as sales director before being promoted to his current role of managing director in 2006 following a long and successful association with the automotive industry both at a management and retail level.

During his tenure as managing director, Volvo sales in Australia have grown by 60 per cent, culminating with a record 4,945 retails in 2010 - the highest volume for Volvo since becoming an independent distributor in Australia.

A replacement for Mr Desselss is yet to be announced and will be the subject of future communication.
