LAVERTON, AUSTRALIA – November 22, 2010: Suzuki’s new generation Swift has won the prestigious Automotive Researchers and Journalists Conference of Japan (RJC) 2011 Car of the Year award.

Ahead of its Australian launch first quarter next year, the Swift was praised by the judging panel for its superior handling, performance and excellent value for money.

The award is the second Japanese Car of the Year achievement for the Swift with the third generation model winning the prize in 2006.

Suzuki Australia General Manager, Tony Devers, was proud of the Swift’s outstanding result in Japan.

“This is a great achievement for the all new Swift in the lead up to its Australian arrival. It reaffirms the Swift as the class leader in style, performance and handling.”

“The Swift has been an outstanding success for Suzuki worldwide, reaching the magical one million sales mark faster than any car in the company’s history. To date it has sold nearly two million units.”

“That is why we can’t wait to shake-up the light car class with the all new Swift. With class-leading fuel economy and safety and its evolutionary new design, we know it will deliver the ultimate package for Australian buyers.”
