Cars You Can't Get in the U.S.
AUTO CENTRAL – November 8, 2010: America's love affair with the automobile…it’s a statement and declaration of affection that as true today as it ever was. But, the same thing can be said for Brits and Frenchmen and Germans and Italians, and virtually every other country in the world: Britain’s love affair with the automobile, Sweden’s love affair with the automobile, and so forth. Really, every one loves the automobile.

But if you’re a real aficionado of cars then your love affair doesn’t just begin and end with the vehicles that are sold in the U.S., you are just as enamored – maybe even more so – by the vehicles that are not available here, and that are only available in other countries.

This is why TheAutoChannel.com has gone to such great lengths of the years to report on the global auto industry. It’s why we’ve invested so much in a team of journalist and correspondents that live and work in various other countries. It’s why we provide comprehensive “Press Pass Coverage” of the Paris and Tokyo Motor Shows (as well as the Geneva, London, Shanghai, Moscow and Frankfurt Motor Shows). It’s why you’ll find stories and reviews of vehicles that will never touch rubber on American soil. In some respects it’s the allure of ‘the forbidden.” But usually it’s simply because there’s some really great, beautiful cars out there that are just plain fun to learn about. Not only that, but believe it or not, we Americans don’t know all there is to know about automobiles, and we often don’t have the latest and best technological improvements until years after they’ve been adopted by the rest of the world.
