Close Qualifying Suggests Action-Packed Off-Road Show At Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nov 7, 2010: In qualifying for tomorrow's round #13 of the 15-round 2010 Lucas Oil Off Road Series at the off-road facility at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Double 2009 division winner Carl Renezeder threw down an ultra-hot 1.07.793 lap of the wild 1.1-mile off-road course to top the Pro 4 speed charts. The Montebello (California) native was followed quite closely on the qualifying charts by Adrian Cenni from the US Virgin Islands with an eyeblink close 1:07.909 lap and Santa Monica's Mike Johnson less than a second behind at 1:08.721. In all 12 drivers qualified for Saturday's top division Pro 4 division race on the tough multi-turn/jump/berm/ off-camber/table-top-studded dirt course that's set only a few feet from 6,000 grandstand seats, each and every one only a few yards from the action...
The qualifying sheet for the Pro 2 Unlimiteds has Las Vegan Rob Maccahren leading the next neatest qualifier Greg Adler (Manhattan Beach. CA) by a similarly-slim margin 1:09.799 to 1:09.969, with double-threat Carl Renezeder right there in third at 1:10.126.
In the Pro Lite Unlimited division, the Metal Mulsiha man himself, Brian Deegan put his machine on the pole for tomorrow's race with a 1:12.333 with Chris Brant and Matt Lodice right behind at 1:13.297 and 1:14.954. Brant calls Council Bluffs, Iowa his home and Lodice is from San Diego.
The Unlimited Pro Buggies top three all qualified within 3/10ths of second! 1:13.036, 1:13.081, and 1:13.381! Bobby Pecoy (Yorba Linda, CA) got fast time (and was quite pleased that the Lucas Clocks read out to three places past the seconds reading! Justin Davis (Las vegas) was second and (also from Yorba Linda) was third-fastest qualifier.
