Victoria Police Head Off-Road In The Jeep Cherokee
VICTORIA – October 15, 2010: Victoria Police and Chrysler Australia have continued their popular partnership, this time taking delivery of the legendary Jeep Cherokee.
Utilised for a variety of functions, the kitted-out Cherokee has already made an appearance at the Royal Melbourne Show and can be spotted at the Central Goldfields for emergency services events, various school programs and escort duties to name a few.
Packed full of standard features such as Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist and the active four wheel drive system Selec-Trac II, the capable Cherokee is the ideal vehicle to support the Victorian Police in their endeavours.
Powered by a 3.7-litre SOHC V-6 petrol engine, the Jeep Cherokee provides competitive peak power and torque while providing smooth, quiet operation and proven durability. It produces 151 kW at 5,200 rpm and 314 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
Recently spotted at the 2010 National Jeep Jamboree showing off its off-road capabilities on the 4WD test track, the eye-catching Cherokee was also a hit with judges at the Show `n Shine competition, voted the best KK Cherokee on site.
