Bendall Becomes Part of the Kia Team - Official!
WEYBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM – October 12, 2010: Kia Motors (UK) Ltd., is delighted to announce that Matthew Bendall has joined the company on a permanent basis as Press Officer. Matthew joined Kia in April to provide maternity cover for Sue Mulcaster but now becomes a firm fixture in the Press & Public Relations team.
Matthew, 30, joined Kia from Renault UK where he had worked for five years, latterly as Press Fleet and Events Manager. Since joining Kia he has worked on a variety of events and activities including the launch of the company’s all-new Sportage First Edition, Paris Motor Show activities and general media relations and services.
As Press Officer – alongside Sara Drummond-Bell – he will be involved in all aspects of Kia’s media relations activities and will report to Communications Director, Stephen Kitson.
Kitson commented: “Matthew has very quickly settled into the team and has shown that he isn’t just passionate about cars but also passionate about doing a great job! I couldn’t bear the thought of him going back to my old friend Tim Jackson in six months’ time so we made him an offer he found just difficult enough to not be able to refuse.
“Seriously, Matthew is going to be a great addition to our team and has a very clear understanding of what our media colleagues and friends want from us,” he added.
Matthew said: “I was delighted to join Kia back in the spring and the future for the brand is set to be very exciting and dynamic – so I look forward to being a part of that and to sharing that excitement with everyone in the media who has been so supportive since I came on board.”
