Ocean State Oil Becomes Newest Distributor of Prime Lube BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid

BlueSky DEF Now Available in Boston Proper, Hartford, R.I. and Throughout Southern New Hampshire and Maine

PR Newswire

CARTERET, N.J., Oct. 5 -- Prime Lube, Inc., one of the largest distributors of lubricants and anti-freeze in the Mid-Atlantic, announced today that it has added Ocean State Oil to its ever-growing list of distributors for its BlueSky Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). Ocean State Oil is now offering BlueSky throughout the Northeast region, including the Boston metropolitan area, Hartford, R.I., southern New Hampshire and Maine.

"We are very excited to welcome Ocean State to the BlueSky family of distributors," said Prime Lube COO Robert Arbasetti. "We have a long history of working together, and we look forward to working with Dan and his team to provide DEF fluid that meets Ocean State's customers' needs for both quality and value."

Ocean State is the largest distributor of Chevron lubricants and TOTAL synthetic lubricants in the Northeast. The company focuses on servicing heavy duty marine, as well as on- and off-road diesel equipment. Founded in 1974 by Dan Bell, the company has grown from its humble beginnings as a backyard lubricant equipment repair shop into one of the most innovative pioneers in lubricant technology, distribution and custom blends.

"We are pleased to have joined forces with Prime Lube to supply BlueSky DEF to our fleet customers," Bell said. "I've known Don DiVite and the Prime Lube teamĀ for many years, and when it came time for us to add DEF to our product line, we found BlueSky to be a perfect addition to serve our needs."

All diesel-powered passenger and commercial vehicles produced after January 1, 2010 are required to meet new, lower nitrous oxide emission standards set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. DEF, in conjunction with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, is the most effective and safest means by which commercial and private owner/operators can meet the required mandate. DEF is also mandated in Canada.

Earlier this month, Prime Lube began production of BlueSky DEF at a new 15,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Avenel, NJ through a partnership with Germany's Kruse Group—the leading global DEF manufacturer and raw materials supplier. The plant has an annual production capacity of about 4 million gallons, with room for expansion as demand grows.

With this local manufacturing capacity, Prime Lube is able to offer a more affordable supply of DEF to its customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. In addition, the company's full-service distribution and handling capacity includes its own fleet of trucks for delivery, as well as the capability to provide customers with the dispensing equipment, storage tanks and other handling equipment required for DEF.

Prime Lube's BlueSky DEF is ISO and API approved to help neutralize the nitrous oxide emissions generated through diesel exhaust. In its most basic form, DEF is a blend of urea (derived from natural gas) and de-ionized water that combine to form ammonia, which turns nitrous oxide emissions into harmless water vapor and elemental nitrogen. It can even improve fuel economy up to 5 percent.
