SAN DIEGO - September 24, 2010: He's famed for his catchphrase, "Who's Next?," but as honorary Grand Marshal of the upcoming Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival, Bill Goldberg's more important aphorism will be "Gentlemen, start your engines!" The 13th annual Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival will take place Sept. 25-26 at Naval Air Station North Island.

Goldberg is a former professional wrestler who holds the distinct record of having the longest undefeated streak in World Championship Wrestling with 173 consecutive victories. In 1997, he defeated Hulk Hogan for the World Championship Wrestling heavyweight title, earning him recognition as one of the 100 most powerful people in the sports industry by The Sporting News.
Today, Goldberg's passions extend into charitable causes benefitting animals, children and education. In addition, he's an avid car buff with an extensive collection of restored cars, and a love for auto racing. As the host of DIY Network's Garage Mahal, Goldberg rips out homeowners' disastrous garages and alters them into mind-blowing living spaces.
The Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival features more than 200 historic automobiles that will race at high speeds on a spectator-friendly 1.7-mile course constructed in mere days on the runways and taxiways of the military base. The track is set against the stunning backdrop of San Diego Bay.
The family event also presents an open paddock, a car club exhibit featuring more than 1,200 cars, a stunning array of military static displays, ship tours, command displays, flyovers, a vendor midway and live music.
The Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival is first and foremost an event that pays tribute to and honors the men and women of our military. The festival offers free admission for active duty military and their dependents. The general public is welcomed onto the base for a weekend of racing, making it the largest open house offered by the Navy on the West Coast.
Tickets are on sale now and cost $25 in advance/$35 at the gate for a one-day admission or $35 in advance/$45 at the gate for a two-day admission. Purchase tickets or learn more at Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival.
