 A Consistently Quick Anderson Will Start Fourth in Charlotte

Greg Anderson and the Summit Racing team completed an impressive qualifying effort on Saturday at the O’Reilly Nationals in Concord, NC earning the fourth starting position for Sunday’s final eliminations.  In two of the four sessions at zMAX Dragway Anderson’s Pro Stock Pontiac was the class of the field, highlighted by his 6.613-second, 209.10 mph pass on his final attempt, which came in the heat of the afternoon.  
 
However, Anderson was also pleased with his organization’s overall performance, as his Summit stable mate Jason Line captured the top starting spot while quasi-teammate Ronnie Humphrey in the Genuine Hotrod Hardware Pontiac leased from the KB Racing team qualified eighth.  Although disappointed that all three were occupying the same side of the final eliminations ladder, the Mooresville resident looked forward nevertheless to making the most of the situation and finishing the weekend on a winning note.
                              
“I had the quickest car in two of the four sessions, with my teammate Jason quickest in the other two, so it was a great qualifying effort for this Summit Racing team, probably the best we have had all year,�?? said Anderson.  “We both made four, nice consistent runs, which makes us feel really good about tomorrow.  Now we have to see if we can execute and keep the ball rolling.  The team’s focus is very good right now, with everyone doing a whale of a job.
 
 “Obviously, the testing we did here last week is paying dividends, and this KB Racing crew is making smart decisions.   As a result, these cars are really easy to drive, making Jason and I look like heroes.  Now we need to cap it off with a great day tomorrow.  
 
“The only negative is that all three of our cars qualified on the same side of the ladder, so we can’t have an all Summit final, but we can get one in there, and we’re going to do the best we can to have one of our cars win here at zMAX Dragway. It’s our hometown track that I really haven’t enjoyed in the past, but I’m starting to warm up to it this weekend.�??
