HOLMES TO DRIVE FOR SUPERIOR CRANKSHAFT
Â
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA (September 17, 2010) – Two-time NASCAR
K&N Pro Series West champion Eric Holmes will be drive the Bammer
Motorsports #88 entry, sponsored by Superior Crankshaft, in the final three SRL
SPEARS Southwest Tour points races of 2010 the team announced today.
Â
Holmes will take over the driving duties from 25 year-old Kyle
Cattanach of Redding, Calif. Cattanach drove the Bammer Motorsports #88
car into the top-five in the series points this year in his first full season
in a Southwest Tour car.
Â
“We are disappointed that Kyle has left the team, it was shocking
to all involved however we understand that he needs a break from racing,?? Motorsports
Marketing Manager Marty Melo said. “We
are moving forward with a driver search process for the 2011 season and we
can’t thank Eric Holmes enough for stepping into the seat for the final races
of the season.??
Â
Holmes has been running a limited schedule of SRL SPEARS Southwest
Tour races while also leading the 2010 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West behind
the wheel of the Bill McAnally-owned NAPA #20 TOYOTA Camry.
Â
He will begin his run with Superior Crankshaft and Bammer Motorsports
at Madera Speedway. Holmes has many laps
around the speedway in the NASCAR Southwest Tour and K&N Pro Series
competition, making him a prime candidate to give Superior Crankshaft their
first win.
Â
The season will continue with return trips to Roseville on October 16 and Las Vegas on October 30. Holmes will be busy competing in both the SRL
and NASCAR West Series portions of the program on the October 16 weekend.
Â
Superior Crankshaft is conducting a driver search to select a
driver for the 2011 SRL SPEARS Southwest Tour campaign. The new driver will be named in early
November with that driver getting the opportunity to compete in the “California
Classic?? on SPEED, November 27 at TOYOTA Speedway in Irwindale, Calif.
