LOUDON, Sept. 14, 2010: The familiar yellow and black of JEGS.com is best known in drag racing circles, but this Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the brand will take center stage at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race with superstar driver Kevin Harvick behind the wheel of the No. 2 JEGS.com Chevrolet Silverado.
"I always look forward to the flat racetracks like New Hampshire since I've always been successful on them and so has our team," Harvick said. "Ron (Hornaday) has three wins at the track, two of them in (Kevin Harvick Inc.) trucks, so we do have the ability to show up and win."
In four Camping World Truck Series starts this season, Harvick has racked up three wins and a runner-up result, leaving the Daytona 500 winner enthusiastic about his chances.
"Tracks like Loudon are a lot of fun and I've won there in both the Cup and Nationwide Series," he said. "It would be cool if I can get a Truck win and add this to the list of tracks where I have won in all three series."
A two-time world champion in the Nationwide Series, Harvick has won twice at the "Magic Mile" in the past, with one victory each in Sprint Cup and Nationwide action. He's also raced to five poles, once in Sprint Cup and four times in Nationwide action.
"New Hampshire is a lot like Phoenix (where) I grew up racing when I was first starting out, so I feel like that my success on flat tracks has carried over to my career in NASCAR's top series," Harvick said. "There's a lot of braking. You have to really work on getting your car through the center of the corner and still have the forward bite you need off the corner, so you get all three aspects of the truck, the driver, and the set-up all in one."
The 19th of 25 events in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 begins at 3 p.m. EDT and will be shown live on SPEED TV.
"This is a big race for JEGS and our 350-plus associates," said vice president John Coughlin, one of four brothers that own and operate JEGS High Performance. "We're all race fans and we all enjoy all the different types of racing that are out there.
"We're celebrating our 50th anniversary this year and by reaching out in this way to our multitude of customers that follow NASCAR racing reminds them that we're always the No. 1 source for high performance parts. We wish Kevin the very best of luck and he should know he's got a lot of extra support this weekend."
