Saturday VIR Qualifying Red Flagged
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
K-PAX Racing Volvos to Start First and Fourth in First Race at VIR
Alton, VA (September 11, 2010) – The K-PAX Racing Volvos will start
from the first and sixth starting positions for Saturday’s race at the
Race Keeper World Challenge VIR Grand Prix presented by Special Ops
Watch at Virginia International Raceway.
Randy Pobst will start from the pole position in the number 6 K-PAX
Racing Volvo S60, while Andy Pilgrim will start fourth on the grid in
the number 8 K-PAX Volvo. These positions were determined by driver
points, due to the fact that none of the GT cars had turned in a
flying lap before the session was red flagged due to Patrick Lindsey
making contact with the tire barrier in turn eight.
Although Andy is currently sixth in points, he was moved up because
Dino Crescentini (fourth in points) is not racing this weekend and
Lindsey’s car was damaged. He came to VIR fifth in points.
The session was checkered early due to the fact that repairs to the
tire barrier would take longer than the 20-minute session would allow.
By this time rain had also begun to fall.
Saturday’s race in the Race Keeper World Challenge VIR Grand Prix
presented by Special Ops Watch will take place from 2:35 p.m. to 3:25
p.m.
