Pacific Mobile/Biosign car qualifies fourth for Utah 250
AIM Autosport looking to finish Grand-Am season strongly

Tooele, Utah (September 10, 2010) — AIM Autosport’s Pacific Mobile/Biosign car has qualified fourth and will start tomorrow’s Utah 250 from the outside of the second row. Qualifying driver, Burt Frisselle, posted a time of 1m 43.760s around the 3.048-mile (4.905km)-long, 15-turn road course at Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City.

The AIM Autosport team demonstrated its race smarts and work ethic today as it brought the car to life during this morning’s practice sessions. Things didn’t look so bright when the car was tenth in the opening practice session, but set up changes transformed the car and it topped the second session.

Having finished the morning with excellent pace, there was in a positive vibe through the team before qualifying.

The afternoon’s 15-minute battle for starting positions boiled down to five-way battle between some closely-matched cars. When the session ended, the Pacific Mobile/Biosign car was fourth and the timing chart showed the first five positions covered by just over 0.5s with sixth place nearly a full second slower.

“We needed to find some time after the early practice session, but we had a good debrief and made some changes that really helped,” said Burt’s co-driver, Mark Wilkins. “Burt drove hard in qualifying and it’s really close at the top. Tomorrow, we need to stay out of trouble and get on that podium.”

“I think the team worked really well today,” said Burt, “Mark did a great job helping set up the car and we made some good changes between sessions. I’m a little disappointed qualifying fourth after leading the last practice session, but it’s close at the top.”

“We made a gain between practice one and practice two and now we just need a good clean race... something we’ve been looking forward to,” said a smiling Chief Engineer, Ian Willis.

The Utah 250 is the final round of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16. The 2h 45m timed race is scheduled to begin at noon and will be broadcast live on SPEED TV and MRN Radio.
