K-PAX Racing Combined Practice Results for VIR

K-PAX Racing’s Volvos Run Second and Third in Combined Practice at VIR



Alton, VA (September 10, 2010) – The K-PAX Racing Volvos posted two of  
the three fastest times in Friday’s combined practice sessions for the  
Race Keeper World Challenge VIR Grand Prix presented by Special Ops  
Watch at Virginia International Raceway. Andy Pilgrim’s best combined  
time was a 1:57.310 (100.349) in the number 8 K-PAX Volvo S60, which  
was a little more than three tenths behind the 1:56.957 (100.652)  
posted by Kuno Wittmer in a Dodge Viper. Right behind Andy on the  
speed charts was his teammate, Randy Pobst, who was third fastest in  
the number 8 Volvo S60, with a quick lap of 1:57.683 (100.031).


“So far, so good,” Andy said. “The car’s handling well, the set up is  
good – everything seems to be good so far. It’s a narrow track, so  
traffic is going to be the name of the game, and not making mistakes,”  
he explained. “The whole idea will be to get out front and stay there.”



Randy Pobst had similar thoughts regarding the performance of the  
number 6 K-PAX Volvo S60. “I’m really pretty darn pleased, and all  
we’ve done is try things and go back to what (team engineer) Will  
Moody had set up when we rolled off the trailer,” he said. “We are  
going to have a monumental battle on our hands. It’s going to be a  
great race. I think the competition is very strong, but I think we  
have enough to run with them,” a confident Randy remarked.



Qualifying is set for Saturday, September 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45  
a.m., and the first of two races in the Race Keeper World Challenge  
VIR Grand Prix presented by Special Ops Watch will take place from  
2:35 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.
