ARCHIE TO FOCUS ON SPORTSCARS FOR REMAINDER OF SEASON
Archie Hamilton, who has competed in the 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup to date,
has decided to broaden his experience in the remaining months of the season
with a view to making a decision for his 2011 campaign.
Hamilton has made progress with his Redline Porsche, breaking into the top
three in his class on a regular basis. A guest appearance in the French
Carrera Cup at Le Mans whetted Archie's appetite for sportscar racing in
which his career goal is to emulate his late grandfather Duncan Hamilton's
Le Mans winning success. Archie currently has several options including
tests to refresh his experience in cars with increased downforce before a
test in an LMP car.
Archie Hamilton
"This season was a big leap for me and the Porsche has taught me a great
deal so far. My progress has been faster than anyone expected so it's
brought forward opportunities that we weren't expecting. I've still got lots
to learn so we've decided to use the rest of the season to get experience in
cars that may be the right move for next year. A full season in Porsche may
still be the right move but by getting out in a variety of cars I'll have a
better idea of what's going to be the best route for me. Hopefully my
programme for the rest of the year will be finalised within the next two
weeks."
