Charging Stations Being Installed in 12 Downtown InterPark Garages to Help Build Infrastructure for Electric Cars

InterPark Garages in Chicago are the first in the city to be installing charging stations at multiple facilities.

There will be “No Charge to Charge�?? for the rest of 2010 at an InterPark downtown Chicago facility that has a charging station.
 

WHAT:

A two-year lease of the Tesla, valued around $78,000, is the grand prize of a sweepstakes celebrating InterPark’s conservation efforts. (Value of the Tesla is around $120,000).
 

WHY:

In an effort to salute Americans who have chosen to switch to electric cars (EV’s), InterPark garages in downtown Chicago are installing charging stations at 12 of its facilities. In addition, electric car owners get to charge for no charge at InterPark locations with charging stations through the end of the year.
 
To kick off the salute to green effort, InterPark is starting a campaign with a two-year lease of a Tesla Roadster 2.5 grand prize; a three-year lease of a Toyota Prius; a pair of Trek bikes, and many days/hours of free parking at its various locations. Starting on August 31, pedestrians along Michigan Avenue and the Loop area will soon be offered scratch-off cards that double as entry cards to win the Tesla. Winners will be announced on or around November 15, 2010.
