Late Season Adjustments Puts a Smile
on Scott Taylor

Belvidere,
IL (August 30, 2010) - It may not show in the results, but Scott Taylor was
smiling when he jumped out of his #8 Miller Welders AMSOIL BFGoodrich Tires
Ford F-150 at the conclusion of the TORC event at Chicagoland Speedway. For
most the season, the seven-time PRO champion has been fighting multiple issues
with his race truck, but after a great practice session at Crandon after Bark
River II, and the return of Russ Wernimont to the team, Scott Taylor is once
again very comfortable with his RoushYates powered machine.

The first
visit to Chicagoland Speedway in eleven years for the off-road racing world saw
the TORC track crew build their best stadium style track of the season. The
.8mile course was designed to run on and inside the .5mile dirt oval at
Chicagoland. The combination of high speed jumps on the oval combined with a
technical layout on the infield made for some of the best racing of the year.

Wednesday -
Round 9

The
starting grid had the #8 ATD Transmission Ford starting in the fourth row. The
rolling start saw the field get off to a clean start as the track had plenty of
places for passing. It seemed like there were battles for position throughout
the twelve truck field.

Scott Taylor
and Dan Vanden Heuvel were door to door for most of the first half of the
eighteen lap feature. Just before the mandatory yellow, as the two PRO-2
veterans were battling for position, the two came together as they were flying
over the infield tabletop jump. The end result saw Taylor spin out when he landed,
and Vanden
Heuvel ripping the right front suspension of his truck. By the time Scott had
the truck pointed in the right direction, the rest of the field had gone by.

When the
mandatory yellow came out on lap nine, truck engineer Russ Wernimont was on the
radio getting Scott to catch his breath and focus on the job at hand. The
second half of the race had the #8 Miller Welders Ford running clean and fast.
The end result was an eighth place finish.

"Our
results didn't show how good this truck was working tonight," remarked Scott
Taylor. "I'm comfortable with every aspect of the truck, we will just have go
and get what we missed tonight, tomorrow."

Thursday -
Round 10

The
starting grid saw Scott starting again in the fourth row. Once again he and Dan
Vanden Heuvel were battling it out for position when the two came together
again. This time Scott relied on his BFGoodrich tires to get the inside
position coming out of the tight 180 degree infield turn to take the sixth spot
away from Vanden Heuvel.

Once the
pass was complete, so was much of the drama in the race for Scott Taylor. The
last three laps saw the #8 Ford making up some ground on the fifth place truck
of McGrath, but the laps ran out before a serious challenge could be made.

A smiling
Scott Taylor climbed out of his truck afterwards and commented.

"We had a
better night, but most of all this truck is working better that it has in along
while. This week has really boosted our team. When we get to Crandon, I know
the rest of the competition knows we're ready to get back on top."

The final
race weekend of the 2010 Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL will be
September 4-5 in Crandon, Wisconsin.
