Brown Goes To Another Final Round

DELAWARE, Aug. 24, 2010: Makenna Brown, granddaughter of drag racing legend Jeg Coughlin Sr. and his wife Sue, continues to tear up local drag strips in her JEGS.com-branded Junior Dragster. Racing in the JEGS ET Series this past weekend at her home track of National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio, Brown finished in the runner-up position. Earlier this season she won her first Junior Dragster race at the same track in her driving debut.
"We had another fun weekend at National Trail Raceway," Brown said. "We had to wait through a really long rain delay on Saturday after running rounds one and two, which moved my semifinal and final runs to Sunday morning.
"We had a great start Sunday morning, so I was bummed that we went red in the finals. Seems like that's the way it goes sometimes. Like they say, that's racing.
"I can't wait for next weekend to get out and race again. My runner-up plaque is really cool. It has Pappy (Coughlin) on it doing a burnout."
Brown will race at the facility again this coming weekend.
