For Immediate Release
JUAN PABLO GARCIA IS HEADING TO SONOMA FOR HIS SECOND RACE OF THE SEASON IN
THE INDY LIGHTS SERIES
MEXICO CITY, Mexico (August 19, 2010) - After a good performance in the
Firestone Indy Lights Series, Juan Pablo Garcia is heading to the difficult
2.303-mile (3.706-Km.) permanent circuit of the Infineon Raceway.
Garcia made his debut last year at the same venue located in Sonoma,
California and now he will compete in the Carneros 100, Round 10 of the
season.
The Mexican talked about it: "I'm prepared for this race weekend, for
my second race at Sonoma in the Firestone Indy Lights and I'm very glad to
return to this track where I raced last year."
"It's a fun and interesting circuit, since it has lots of blind turns,
ups and downs and also fast sectors. Hopefully we'll achieve a better finish
than the one we've got at Mid-Ohio," he added.
"We come from a fun race weekend where we've had a good set up. And
despite setting up for the Infineon Raceway is complicated, we expect to
continue with the good feedback between engineer and I, to get once again a
competitive car. Also, the team is looking forward to this Indy Lights race," said
the driver of the car #8.
Garcia has experience in open wheel racing with A1 Team Mexico in the
extinct A1GP Series. He also competed in British F3 National Class and raced
in several Series of Formula Renault 2.0 both in Europe and South America.
The Firestone Indy Lights Carneros 100 race is part of the event called
Indy Grand Prix de Sonoma, heading the program the Izod IndyCar Series. The
Indy Lights race will be held this Sunday, August 22nd and you can follow
the news from the Infineon Raceway at www.twitter.com/infineonraceway.
